Game Recap

Juniors Lydia Chapel and Rachel Witkowski did not play due to injury.

We struggled to score in the first half and needed Kennedy’s hot hand in the second half.

I was proud of my team’s defensive intensity tonight in the second half.

Junior guard Kennedy Horne heated up in the third quarter hitting three triples from deep and juniors Jordan Reed and Aliyah Pries added three driving lay-ups to cut Roeper’s lead to one after three quarters.

In the fourth Roeper jumped out to a 35-30 lead with 5:00 minutes left in the game. The Eagles responded as Robin Albert 3 of 4 free throws and Kennedy hit another big three to give the Eagles the 36 to 35 lead with 3:30 remaining.
The Eagles and Rough Riders would exchange leads once again before a steal and a lay-up by senior guard Akwia Tilton, who scored a game high 20, would give Roeper the lead for good.

The Eagles had a chance at the 2:00 minute mark to extend the lead to three but couldn’t convert the fast break chance or the ensuing rebound.
