Boys Varsity Baseball · Magical Varsity Baseball Season Ends in 11-2 Loss in Quarterfinals

The Eagles traveled to Saginaw Valley State University Tuesday to take on the Unionville-Sebewaing Patriots in the State Quarterfinals.  The Eagles dug themselves an early hole, allowing 5 runs in the top of the 1st inning on route to an 11-2 defeat.  Norbie Fernandez started on the mound and was relieved in the 6th by Nathan Etnyre.

The Eagles threatened with runners virtually every inning but could only manage to push across 2 runs.  Phillip Morby collected 2 singles and a stolen base with Nathan Etnyre, Norbie Fernandez, Gavin Goerke, Dillon Morby, Jacob Weertz and Connor Smith each singling once.

It has been an amazing run through the playoffs by a very young team in what was thought to be a rebuilding year, however, the Senior leadership accellerated the growth of our young players.  Many thanks to Seniors Evan Wright, Gavin Goerke, Connor Smith, Hunter Torolski and especially Phillip Morby for taking this team to a level never before seen at PCA.  I can’t wait to see what we do next year!
