Coed Varsity Tennis · Road Woes Continue; Eagles Tennis Falls at Allen Park

ALLEN PARK, MI (September 17, 2018)
Written by Mike Costello
The PCA co-ed tennis team took to the road on Monday and came up on the short end of a 7-1 decision. It was the second straight road match loss.
Matt Pierce (12), at #2 singles, won a hard-fought three-set decision to secure the Academy’s only point.
Rachel Costello (11), at #3 singles, lost in a third-set tiebreaker, 10-7.  She battled back to win the second set 6-4, to force the extra session.
All of the other Eagles fell in straight sets.
#1 singles player, Justin Parks retired in the first set due to injury.
The loss drops the PCA record to 3-2-1. The Eagles have no time to dwell on the Allen Park loss; they travel to Pontiac Notre Dame Prep tomorrow. The match is slated to begin at 4:30.
