WESTLAND, MI (January 30, 2020) – PCA snapped a two-game losing streak with a convincing 55-19 road victory over Lutheran Westland.

The Eagles raced out to a 13-0 lead and never looked back. The Purple and Gold ratcheted up their defense and pushed the ball in transition at every opportunity.

After one, PCA led 15-2.

Lutheran Westland raised their game a notch in the second quarter but were still on the short end of the scoreboard, 12-9. PCA got contributions from all players both offensively and defensively and led at the break, 27-11.

PCA was paced by Anna Fernandez with 16 points. Morganne Houk added 4 and Ella Godin had 3.

Lutheran Westland was led by Julia McGuire with 4 and Nicole Eden with 3.

The Eagles built their lead in the third quarter. They continued their tough pressure defense. This intensity led to numerous deflections and subsequent steals.

PCA outscored Lutheran Westland 18-2 and led 45-13 after three quarters.

The fourth quarter saw the Eagles continue to dictate the pace of the game. The bench contributed key points and moved the ball well.

When the horn sounded, PCA had earned a decisive MIAC win, 55-19.

Coach Rod Windle was pleased with the effort, “This was a good team win. We got contributions from everyone tonight. It was a balanced stat sheet and it gives us momentum heading into spirit week.”

PCA moves to 9-3 on the season while Lutheran Westland falls to 3-8.

The Warriors were led by Nicole Eden with 5 points and Sydney Day and Julia McGuire who each had 4.
