It has been 169 days since the Butler Gymnasium has been used by our student-athletes. It has been a crazy time since the start of Covid-19, but we are slowly and safely finding our new normal. Volleyball has been practicing outside since August 12th. They have had summer workouts since mid-May. The players and coaches have made the most of it but there have been many challenges. Having to purchase outdoor nets, using indoor balls outside, playing on grass vs. a court, and the weather just to name a few. Just this week practices for the Freshman, JV, and Varsity teams have been cancelled 3 times due to heat and rain. The program is ready to be inside.
The Butler Gymnasium has not been used by our athletes since March 12th as the Varsity Boys Basketball team prepared for a District Championship game before the state shutdown due to Covid-19. 169 days and counting that the gym has not been used. We are ready to safely let kids back into the gym where we can continue to push for a new normal which includes a safe start to school sports this Fall. We will continue to pray and prepare as we plan to play again! Go Eagles
