Eagles News · Detroit Country Day downs Eagles

CANTON, MI (February 12, 2021) – The visiting Yellow Jackets from DCD downed PCA tonight 57-43.

The Eagles just seemed out of synch the entire game as the Eagles fell behind early in the second quarter and never recovered.

Anna Fernandez carried the load of the scoring the entire game and finished with 31 points. Fernandez, Grace Fernandes, and Allie Pilat gave the Eagles the lead after one, 11-8.

DCD caught fire in the second and blitzed the Eagles from distance and inside the paint. PCA struggled on both ends of the floor and went to the break trailing 28-20.

Turnovers plagued the Eagles as they struggled to get back into the game. Country Day outscored PCA 10-6 in the quarter and took a 38-26 lead into the final eight minutes.

PCA tried to ramp up their defense and went to a full-court press to cut into the deficit. It worked to some extent.  Their offense produced 17 points, most in the game, but it led to easy basket for the Yellow Jackets when they broke the press.

PCA gave it their all, but dropped their first game of the season, 57-43.
