2018 started out with a bang for the Lady Eagles with a decisive conference win over Southfield Christian on Monday night, winning 68-26. All nine players scored for the Eagles (Junior guard Harlee Collins is out with an injury). Senior Robin Albert led all the scorers with 20 points and Junior Sarah Fernandes had 11 points. The game was close at halftime, with PCA holding a 25-17 lead thanks to a last minute 3 pointer by senior Alyssa Points (5 points, 5 steals). The Eagles came out in the 3rd quarter and dominated play both offensively and defensively, outscoring Southfield Christian 27-4 to take a 52-21 lead heading into the 4th quarter. The hot shooting continued in the 4th quarter for PCA, with sophomore Rachel Costello scoring 8 of her 9 points, along with Izzy Nunez (2 points) and Grace Kellogg (4 points) adding key buckets along with their excellent defensive effort. Rounding out the scoring the Eagles were Isabel Mossel (6 points), Ella Godin (7 points) and Ariela Boboc (4 points).
PCA travels to Franklin Road Christian on Friday, January 12th for a rematch of their December 19th game.
